#TBT Follow-Up: The Quarzwerke logo – a symbol for an entire group

In our last TBT, we took a look at the history of the “Quarzwerke shovel” – that unique symbol that conveys our origins, our tradition of craftsmanship, and our values. But the shovel has long since ceased to be merely a symbol of the parent company: over the decades, it has developed into a visual link within the entire Quarzwerke Group.

Today, we take a look at where else in the Quartzwerke Group the shovel is used.

Amberger Kaolinwerke: The shovel as a clear commitment to shared history

Amberger Kaolinwerke Eduard Kick GmbH & Co. KG (AKW) has been part of the Quarzwerke Group since the mid-1990s. AKW retained its old logo for a long time, and it was not until 2005 that it was redesigned to create visual proximity to the umbrella brand. The personal touch remains: the AKW logo is red instead of turquoise. The subsidiaries Kemmlitzer and Caminauer Kaolinwerke, as well as the Ukrainian Kaolin Company, also have the shovel as their logo.

HPF – The Mineral Engineers: High-performance minerals, visibly rooted

Today, HPF Minerals stands for highly specialized, functional, high-performance mineral fillers developed for demanding applications in polymer, composite, coating, construction chemical, and elastomer systems. HPF is a division of the Quarzwerke Group, as indicated by the shovel in the logo.

Quarzwerke Witterschlick: Tradition, quality, and close ties to the group

The Witterschlick site has been part of the Quarzwerke Group since 2008 and looks back on a long history of quartz gravel and quartz sand extraction. After several changes of ownership, the plant was taken over by the family-run Quarzwerke GmbH and structurally reorganized. However, the site retained its old logo until 2021; since 2021, the logo “QWW” has been displayed on the shovel.

Kerkosand – regional strength with a familiar brand character

Kerkosand spol. s r. o. from Šajdíkove Humence is an established manufacturer of valuable mineral raw materials. Although the company uses its own logo, its design is based on the clear, minimalist style found throughout the Quarzwerke Group.

This creates a harmonious impression: a brand with its own profile that remains visibly connected to the quartz movements – in attitude, expression, and shared origins.

One symbol, many stories

The shovel has long been more than just a company logo; it is a unifying element of identity within the Quarzwerke Group.
Everywhere it tells the same story: a story of origin, craftsmanship, responsibility, and solidarity, and of how a symbol can shape a company over decades.
