Quarzwerke becomes a member of the Industrial Decarbonization Cluster
Working together for a climate-friendly future for industry
The Quarzwerke Group is proud to be an official member of the Cluster for Decarbonization of Industry (CDI). This step underscores our clear commitment to sustainable and climate-friendly industrial processes.
The CDI brings together companies, research institutions, and political actors to jointly develop practical solutions for the decarbonization of energy-intensive industries. Close cooperation within the cluster promotes synergies that accelerate the transition to a climate-neutral industry.
“We are delighted to now be part of this strong network,” emphasizes Fabian Zickel, Energy Manager at Quarzwerke. “The exchange within the cluster enables us to help shape innovative approaches while benefiting from the experience of other players.” Carbon Footprint Manager Nils Kavermann also sees membership as an important step: “This will enable us to consistently pursue our path toward CO2-neutral production and thus greater climate protection.”
By joining the CDI, Quarzwerke is taking responsibility for the environment and society and rising to the challenges of industrial transformation. Together with its partners in the cluster, the company wants to actively contribute to paving the way for a sustainable industry.
Background information on the CDI:
The Industrial Decarbonization Cluster was founded in November 2021 on the initiative of four Cottbus-based institutions. The initiators are the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg, the Institute for Low-Carbon Industrial Processes at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Infrastructure and Geothermal Energy (IEG), and the Competence Center for Climate Protection in Energy-Intensive Industries (KEI). By pooling expertise and promoting innovative solutions, it actively contributes to the transformation of industry and the achievement of climate targets.
